Can you have invisible braces with a root canal?

If you have a root canalThe portion of the pulp cavity inside the root of a tooth; the chamber within the root of the tooth that contains the pulp., can you also have invisible braces like Invisalign and Clear Correct?

If you have ever had a root canal you may wonder whether you would be able to have additional dental treatments like invisible braces as well. The good news is yes, you would still be able to have invisible braces if you have had root canal treatment. In most cases,  the only question will be how soon after treatment will you be able to wear braces.

Invisible braces like Invisalign or Clear Correct work by using clear aligners that are attached to your teeth in order to either straighten teeth or fill in gaps. They use a clear transparent plastic dental brace, rather than the metal brackets used in dental braces.

As always, if you have any questions regarding either invisible braces or root canal treatment you can speak with your dentist. We are always happy to help and want to ensure you make an informed decision.
