Worry about visiting the dentist

We’re here to take the fear from dental treatment.

Worry about visiting the dentist is common. But when it affects your dental health, then it has become a problem.

There are many reasons why you might worry or fear visiting the dentist. Having had a serious dental treatment in the past that didn’t go well, a fear of pain or needles or having left it a long time since the last your last appointment are all things that cause worry or fear.

Our dentists are here to help. We don’t want anyone to feel that fear is holding them back from seeking dental treatment. One of the problems with fearing the dentist is that small issues with your teeth often go untreated, leading to more serious problems which are more difficult to treat. Overcoming your fear of the dentist is key to making sure you keep up with your oral health.

Ways to overcome your fear

If you are worried about visiting the dentist, call your nearest dental practice to discuss how we can help. Our dentists understand nervous patients and are here to put you at ease. You can visit the dentist before your appointment, see the Practice and environment, know what to expect when you come for your visit.

You could book an appointment in the morning, this means that you won’t be worrying about your appointment all day, you can go straight to the dentist and then get on with your day.

While at your appointment you could ask if you can wear headphones to listen to something that relaxes you, favourite music or a podcast, while your treatment takes place.

In extreme cases we can offer Sedation at some of our Clinics. You can find out all about Sedation and how it works here. If you are looking for a Clinic that offers Sedation then you can search here.
