Are veneers more expensive than crowns?

Crowns, veneers.. which is more expensive?

Veneers and crowns are both very popular forms of dentistry, which seek to restore issues with your teeth such as decay or discolouration. However, the choice between them depends on the condition of your teeth and the issue that you are trying to fix. Veneers are a thin layer of porcelain that can be bonded to the front of your teeth, whilst crowns cover can cover the entirety of the tooth and are thicker than veneers.

Quite often crowns are used for more serious issues, if the tooth has broken or if a significant amount of tooth tissue has been lost. In these cases, a crownSimple crown procedure utilizing a porcelain crown fused to non-precious metal and not involving complicated prep. will be placed over the shaped tooth surface.. Conversely, veneers tend to be more cosmetically focused. If you have some staining on your front teeth or if they are chipped, your dentist may recommend having veneers, in order to refresh your smile and perhaps give you more confidence.

The difference in cost between veneers and crowns, is unfortunately, based on the extent of the damage and the material you may choose to use. For example, porcelain veneers would be more expensive than all-metal crowns. However, crowns tend to cost slightly more than veneers if the same material is being used.
