How to clean a dental bridge

How do you clean a dental bridge?

Dental bridges are used to replace any missing teeth in your gums so that you can properly communicate and chew as well as helping you rebuild your confidence that may have been lost due to noticeable gaps or decayThe lay term for carious lesions in a tooth; decomposition of tooth structure.
The dental bridge is created by using the tooth/teeth beside the space to support a false tooth restoring the gap. Bridges are fixed into the mouth unlike dentures which are removable.

However, once you have the dental bridge there is obviously the question of how to you keep it clean and maintain it to a high standard.

Primarily, the best thing you can do is to treat the dental bridge in the same way you would treat your natural teeth and therefore brush regularly and floss to ward off decay that could damage the bridge and effect its longevity.

Even though the bridge is made up of artificial teeth it can still decay - brushing keeps it clean whilst flossing removes any morsels of food that may linger in your mouth and cause potential damage or other dental issues.

Your dental bridge is extremely strong and therefore you don’t need to worry about brushing or flossing too rigorously.

If you have any further questions about the treatment and your dental hygiene feel free to reach out to your dentist to find out more.
