A warm welcome from our principal dentists, Drs Yogi Savania and George Savva.

At Alexandra Dental Care our goal is to provide the highest level of patient care and dentistry in a relaxing and friendly environment. Many of our patients travel to us from across the East Midlands, broader UK and even overseas.

We welcome nervous or anxious dental patients that have maybe had a bad experience and hate the thought of going to a dentist. As well as restoring teeth and smiles, we strongly believe in a preventative approach. By this we aim to work with you so together we can create a healthy mouth to make your smile last a lifetime, and hopefully require less treatment in the future.

Jag Chohan graduated at the University of Leeds, where he carried out his training for Bachelor of dental surgery (BChD).

Jag’s interests within dentistry include, cosmetic dentistry, in particular restorative work. His aims are to provide a high quality of care for all patients, in a friendly and relaxed environment. 

Outside of dentistry, Jag enjoys football, especially playing five a side. He is also a keen golfer.

Baldeep graduated in 2010 and has worked in Yorkshire and the Midlands. Bal is fond of the restorative aspect of dentistry and has completed a post graduate certificate in restorative dentistry and a diploma in endodontology, he’s currently working towards his Masters in Endodontology.

Bal is kept very busy by his twins outside of the practice. While being a foodie he enjoys experimenting when cooking. He loves keeping fit and active through the gym and Thai boxing.

Since qualifying as a hygienist at Manchester Dental School in December 1990, Helen has gained experience in hospitals, NHS and private practice.

Helen is passionate about her career, focusing on promoting gum health and providing excellent oral hygiene advice to improve peoples dental health.

She is a regular attender at regional and national courses to ensure her clinical work is of the highest standard and is up to date.

Helen lives locally with her husband and two young sons.

Yogi Savania qualified from Leeds University Dental School in 1989. Has been a Principal in an Award- winning 5 surgery practice in Derbyshire for the past 25 yrs. He also held part-time Clinical Assistant posts in Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry at hospitals in Derby and Leicester. Special interests include Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, TMJ, Digital dentistry, and Photography.

He is a Diamond Invisalign provider and teaches on Invisalign courses to other dentists.

Has been actively involved as a Dental Educator and Vocational Trainer for 19 years and passed the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education (PG Cert Clin Ed) in 2012 with distinction.

He is a European Consultant to 3M ESPE and sits on the Editorial Board of the Probe Magazine. In 2017 Yogi was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD).

Yogi is a Full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and was short listed in The 2010 Smile Awards. In 2013 he was highly commended at the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards as well as being short-listed in 8 categories. Alexandra Dental Care have won numerous practice accolades over the years.
Has given talks on Aesthetic Dentistry, Marketing and Communication, and has had various articles and case studies published in dental magazines. Has been involved as a Clinical Audit Facilitator and formerly a BDA spokesperson.
Yogi keeps fit by practising martial arts, currently a 3rd Dan Black Belt in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do, often umpiring at National and World Championships.

Also regularly trains in Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai boxing.
