Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin, causing your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses’ lines around your nose and mouth. Using a dermal filler is a safe and effective way to bring back volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds.

Dermal filler products are injected in small, controlled doses just under the surface of the skin. Using a dermal filler is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. Your treatment will be administered by a dentist (an appropriately trained healthcare professional), not as in many beauty salons where the treatment is often unregulated.

I have had a fear of dentists and needles for many years and this dental surgery is beginning to restore my faith in dentists. Any treatment is always explained to me and the dentists always make me feel comfortable.

What is a tooth?
A tooth (plural teeth) is a hard, calcified structure found in the jaws (or mouths) of many vertebrates and used to break down food. Some animals, particularly carnivores, also use teeth for hunting or for defensive purposes. The roots of teeth are covered by gums. Teeth are not made of bone, but rather of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness. The cellular tissues that ultimately become teeth originate from the embryonic germ layer, the ectoderm.
