The good news is that tooth extractions should not impact your daily life, but there can be some discomfort.
The majority of people who have tooth extractions can return to work after the surgery, however, it could feel slightly uncomfortable for a few hours. This is because a local anaesthetic is used to numb your mouth during the procedure. This means you might want to avoid any particularly hot foods or drinks afterwards, as you might not be able to feel how hot they are.
Additionally, after the numbness disappears there may be some initial pain, however, this can be countered with over the counter medication such as ibuprofen. Make sure to ask your dentist before doing this, as they will be able to give the best recommendation.
Unfortunately, in some cases, people feel the pain for longer and if you continue to feel any pain, make sure to visit your dentist again as there may be an infection.
